We are a community of believers who are committed to following Jesus Christ and making a difference in the world. We believe that everyone has a gift to offer, and we encourage our members to use their gifts to serve others.
We have a variety of ministries that are designed to reach out to people of all ages and backgrounds. We are always looking for new ways to serve our community, and we welcome your ideas. If you are interested in getting involved in a ministry, please contact us.
We hope you will join us as we seek to love God and love others!
11 Now these are the gifts Christ gave to the church: the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, and the pastors and teachers. 12 Their responsibility is to equip God's people to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ. 13 This will continue until we all come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of God's Son that we will be mature in the Lord, measuring up to the full and complete standard of Christ.
Ephesians 4:11-13 NLT
Our active youth ministry provides a dynamic and inclusive space for young individuals to grow in their faith. Through engaging Bible study sessions, the ministry fosters a deep understanding of Scripture, encouraging thoughtful discussions and personal reflection. Additionally, the youth ministry actively participates in missions, organizing outreach programs and service projects to serve communities, while also emphasizing the importance of fellowship and building meaningful relationships among young members through fun activities and events.
The church deacon ministry is composed of a dedicated team of individuals who exemplify servant leadership within the congregation. As deacons, they selflessly support the pastoral staff and church community, demonstrating compassion, humility, and a willingness to serve in various capacities. Through their commitment to ministering to those in need, the deacon team members embody the values of love, grace, and stewardship, playing a vital role in the spiritual well-being and growth of the church.
At Schomburg Road Baptist Church, the music ministry is a vibrant and integral part of worship. It seeks to create an atmosphere of reverence and joy while fostering a sense of community and deepening the worship experience.
It is the desire of the Hillcrest Ministry Resource Center to help people who are hurting and going through difficult times in finding assistance. They offer food and clothing, and some limited assistance for rent, lodging, and utilities. Our church serves here on Mondays from 1:15-3:45.
SRB@Home brings the love and care of our church family to our brothers and sisters who are unable to come to Schomburg Road for any reason. Many of these precious members went out of their way to minister to others when they were younger. The SRB@Home team seeks to meet their needs by visiting and talking, bringing a meal, giving a ride to an appointment, or in any way we can.
